2019 Big Day of Giving
Every May, over 600 nonprofit organizations in the Sacramento, CA region participates in an one day online giving campaign to raise unrestricted funds to further their causes and missions.

This year we are raising funds for some unexpected expenses after we had three hits the week before Big Day of Giving!

1- having our mowing tractor breakdown

2- receiving a $5,000 property tax bill due 5/31

3- having someone break into our property!

We invite you to participate in Big Day of Giving. You may give on the event page at www.bigdayofgiving.org or here on our website on the donate tab, which makes funds available to us immediately.

2018 Mission's Week with Jim Elliot Christian High School
November 6-9 at the Grand Island Mission

Jim Elliot Christian High School has chosen our renovation project as the focus of their 2018 Mission's Week - A Mission to The Mission! Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors will be serving alongside teachers, staff and volunteer parents to complete several projects, concluding with a day of fun on the Sacramento River Delta.

Projects will include power washing and painting the building, installing tile, painting/staining a gazebo and general grounds clean up. An equipment, materials and supplies list will be posted here soon, if you'd like to help resource this week. You can also go to our donate page to make a donation

Prior to and throughout this week, students will be learning about their unique gifts and talents, their personal life mission and their role in The Great Commission, including being a part of a larger vision. We will also schedule a pre-work day to prepare for the students arrival, which we'd love to have some extra hands to assist. The date will be announced soon.

2017 Spring Clean Up!
Saturday, March 18, 9 AM - 4 PM at the Grand Island Mission

With all the storms we have had this year, with not a lot of sunny dry days between, there is LOTS of cleanup to do on the grounds... downed tree limbs to remove, weeds to whack, leaves to rake, overgrown lawn to mow, roses and shrubs to prune, and much, much more! We'd love to have you come out to join us for hopefully a non-rainy day to clean up as much as possible in one day.

If you enjoy country road biking, you might just want to throw in your bike to reward yourself with a nice afternoon or evening sunset cruise once we are done. Your route will take you meandering through the vineyards, orchards and along the Steamboat Slough levee road.

If you let us know you are coming, we will provide lunch. Email us at info@grandislandmission.org or call 916-776-4456.  Bring a pair of gloves and any favorite yard tools.

If it is raining, or you are unsure of the weather, check our facebook for the most current updates at www.facebook.com/grandislandmission
